I tried the Mirror's Edge demo, and let me tell you, I was sorely disappointed. The controls are clumsy and feel unnatural. The graphics are beautiful, but too much of the game relies on your character's ability to process rational thoughts. Whenever I saw the word 'automatically', I began to shiver apprehensively, because that meant it could take me 20 minutes on that section just trying to get an object in the exact coordinates she needed to grab it. You'd think that such an experienced free runner as the main character would be used to jumping from one fifty-storey building to the next. You'd think that, over time, she would learn that falling hurts and grabbing things to stop your fall is a good idea. But no. She's braindead apart from what you tell her. Maybe if it was possible to get through a segment of the game without stopping, calculating, getting a running start, and eventually mashing buttons; the game might feel smooth and fast. But it's like strapping jet engines to a tank, turning them all on and off in random sequence, and hoping the tank will figure out the other 90% of what needs to happen despite the fact that it has Super Retardation.
But other than that, the graphics were pretty.
